It's in the place with the cleanest, softest most golden sand that you fly over approaching/leaving Alicante Airport, Urbanova

We also found Moments recently and have to say what a nice place, with great food. Hopefully they keep the menu del dia at 17€ which will deter the pile it high sell it cheap customers

Well said Victor
Interestingly on Friday the busiest establishment was Capriche, not a spare seat, lunch at least €40
The second busiest was Moments
Don Arroz with the cheapest menu del dia was all but empty

I totally agree people will always pay for quality, there have been numerous places over the years in GA where it was cheaper to eat out than stay in, most have gone to the wall. I admire any new restauranter because it must be tricky decision to make

We had the menu del dia for lunch today, very very good.
Chatting to the brother and sister who own the place they told us that their parents have owned and ran Capriche, at the back of the block, for over 20 years
I suppose with that pedigree it's hardly surprising it is good
Find attached photos of the starters, I forgot to take any more

What a lovely family they are at moments restaurant, I had a lovely conversation with the sister she told me all about her parents restaurant capriche & that her mother is still the chef there. She told me they have a wine cellar in moments with over 500 bottles of wine so you would never be stuck for choice, then I was privileged to be asked by her if I would like see the kitchen which I said I would love to.I then watched has the chef prepared & cooked somebody's order in there bbq oven. The oven is fantastic it's like a normal oven but when you open it instead of there being gas or electric it has got the a layer of charcoal at the bottom it,I would love one for the house. All in all a fantastic afternoon the owners, staff & food were excellent.Lovely people who made us feel so welcome can't wait to go back.
Regards
Dave

Hi Dave, I've seen a few folk in there having the sea urchins, what are that like?
The rabbit is very good, I've had it twice
Good to hear your view on the Sunday Elche market, in our opinion it's the best market in the area by a big margin

Hello John, it's the first time that we've eaten sea urchin.we enjoyed them the only way that can explain what they taste like, is that they taste of the sea very nice on the palate. They were €2.50 each which is nothing compared to what they charge back home.As for the market at elche fc we all loved it & would agree definitely the best in our opinion.

Dave

We visited Moments for a late lunch yesterday.   Had a great chat with one of the owners. They certainly are passionate about their food and wine.  Its very good. Will definitely make it a regular.  It wasn't in the sun when we arrived which was a shame so had to sit inside. Not what I would ordinarily do on the beachfront when the sun is shining,, but it is lovely inside so all good.  Will just have to remember to eat earlier in the Winter months !!!

Hi John,
Just wanted to say we went to Moments last week - once for lunch and then for Dinner on Saturday -  after reading your post . Really enjoyed it !! - As you said, not as cheap as some other places, BUT you definitely get what you pay for there - had the oysters and sea urchin , lovely wine and great food . We will definitely be back with friends and appreciate the information - keep the nuggets of info coming :-)

 :)
