Bins are AWOL near Fosters
« on: February 09, 2019, 21:45. »
Hi all. I noticed today that the bins next to Fosters (GA Centre) are all missing, and the area cleaned up. There are what looks like "surveying markers" in their place. Any ideas? Start of the hotels? Where did those bins move to?

My mate told me that he overheard a conversation that someone suggested it might be a go cart track.

That’ll be lovely, sitting out for a peaceful evening on your patio and hearing them things sounding like manic wasps belting round a track, heaven!!

If I lived down there I’d be investing what I could do to challenge it.

Regards all

I appreciate the feedback, but it sounds like total nonsense to me. What other cart tracks have you ever seen in a residential area in Spain? It's this sort of gossip that makes Spanish council members sound like lunatics, when in fact they are about the same as the English ones, just generally "useless".

Same scale as the track down the 332.... seem plausible to you?

The Go Kart track plot is 70 x 93. The plot adjacent to Fosters is only 38 metres wide. Too narrow to be viable IMHO quite apart from any other considerations.

Just out walking and noticed that contractors have now fenced off the whole area and erected a Portacabin. There are surveyor's markers all over the site.

"gaveteran" ….. the bins have now been moved to the side and behind Mercadona.

Loads more activity today another hut has arrived with 3 chairs facing the sun. But more importantly there is signage around the perimeter stating AJ Hotels Gran Alacant. Maybe this is the beginning of the end for the long awaited hotel/golf course development.

I was in GA last week and whilst Mrs Iron was doing the big shop at Mercadona I visited the site in question.

The small building I believe is going to be the commentary box.

I also saw that some safety railing had been erected which I think will be at the tricky chicane or at the end of the pit lane.

The bins are nicely located next to mercadona, they are being well looked after so far, little opportunity to dump your palm trees or mattresses without being seen.
The big guns have arrived on site ie earth movers, whilst walking the dog i spoke with a guy who looked important as he had a theodolite, he seemed to suggest it was a forty room hotel or maybe 400 as my Spanish couldnt keep up. He also seemed to imply it would be finished by July though he didnt say which year.
