Yeeeeeeah more tax in the pot for the Spanish economy.
Oh no they dont pay any tax...scumbags.....I would rather drink dirty dish water.... ;)

Cannot understand Starbucks doing well in Spain. The coffee in all the little bars and restaurants is so good. Dish water is right. It's a fashion trend that the sheep follow.

funnily enough: Starbucks was a disaster in Spain.

Till some 4 or 5 years ago, when they decided to work with VIPS  (you have about two dozen restaurants of their group in Alicante) and since it has worked its way back.

So it is a bit different from the US (or UK) Starbucks ...

Went into Starbucks in Sevilla 3 years ago because it was opposite the cathedral which we were waiting to finish mass so we could visit.
It was, we realised, not very clean or litter-free.  We thought no matter, we'll persevere.  When the coffee came, the China was dirty [lipstick), so we got up & went to remonstrate.  They couldn't believe that we demanded the reparations book, & took an age to produce it.
We weren't fans before, but ever since have managed to fulfill our promise never to return.
Free WiFi was their only plus, & so many places now offer that,

Being a big coffee drinker ive never been a fan of starbucks finding there coffee quite poor, since reading that despite turning over zillions in the uk they make no profit because all theyre stock is sourced via another subsidiary at inflated prices who are based in another country, meaning they pay no tax running at a near loss, ourselves and lots of people we know never go into starbucks out of principle.

Totally agree with above posts, coffee in Spain is gorgeous - never have been able to 'do' English instant.   But will be interesting to see how Starbucks do!
