We had similar problem after not visiting in ten months, we cut all our Bougainvillea , Jasmin and Hibiscus down to six inches high, we both used secateurs and cut the resulting plant waste down to bits about six inches long , bagged it in bin liners and put it in the street bins, it's amazing how little space it takes up if cut down into short lengths.

Looking around the bins on the floor thats where most people are getting rid of it.....Officially it should be taken to the green disposal site which is located up by the lighthouse. Drive up past the market and on towards the skywalk, before the turn round at the end the entrance is on the right .It has summer and winter opening hours which are roughly between 8.00 and 13.00. They may ask for proof of address as the site for large items at Santa Pola does. If the rubbish is in plastic bags it needs to be emptied in to the container and the bag put in a separate place if you dont want it.  Gran Alacant is lucky to have this facility.

I always put my garden waste in the bins, cut up into shortish lengths so it all goes in. If necessary I do it over a few days putting a little in at a time.
