What a great day
« on: March 23, 2016, 21:29. »
After a couple of grey wet days it was good to see the sun and blue skies today. Lovely sunset tonight, quite a few folk out with their cameras trying to capture it, here's my efforts!!

Regards all

Stunning. Is that on the right as you drive on the 332 out of Santa Pola towards La Marina? I think the building is a relic from the Civil War

Hi Chris, thanks for your comments.
It is indeed on the 332 just south of Santa Pola.
The tower is one of three watch towers built in Santa Pola in 1552, this one was "restored" about 5 years ago.

I've never made my mind up about the restoration. Just not sure if it aesthetically improved it?

Hi gaveteran, that's why I put restored in inverted commas, to me it was more of a rebuild, IMHO they went too far in preserving it.

The same with the Roman stuff in Santa Pola, & at El Campello.  They overdo it to death.
