I can only assume that whoever authorised the initial work has never even built a sand castleIt was obvious to anybody with any basic knowledge of building construction that none of this structure was salvageable, the decades of neglect had left this structure both dangerous and unsalvageable.I refuse to believe that Elche Council building department were innocent in all this and the construction company certainly knew that the whole structure would have to be demolished.Surely the ideal plan would be to demolish it and build the hotel that was planned for there.Yes I know the new regulations have an impact on this but surely anyone with an ounce of sense would see that what we have now and have had for the last 40-50 years is a total eyesore.
