How come our bills dated 6 August is for 63.38 euros and 3 July 47.73 euros when we haven't been there since May and the only things running electricity are the fridge freezer and the modem

Think we need to pay a call on the Iberdrola office

I was thinking the same having just received our bill. Looking at the details, the standing charges are high.

Stupid question - If you haven't been there since May do you even need the electricity on for two months? We always switch ours off as we leave the house (make sure you leave the fridge and freezer open though).

The standing charges will be higher by about €5 because the August bill is for 34 days whereas the July bill was for 28 days. Add on the tax etc on that €5 will bring it to about €7. The remainder of the increase could be the fridge / freezer working harder as it's got warmer.

My bill for August is €28 for zero consumption. Nice work if you can get it.
