I am very fond of these creatures but not the filthy, smelly mess they leave in my 'garden'.  By 'garden' I mean the 15' x 2' strip of 'soil' against the wall.  The plants would rather die than put up with it.

Can anyone suggest a deterrent?  If I am around I find a water pistol very effective but cats have 24/7 to plot and scheme.

Stick some plastic forks in the soil or tooth picks, that stops them walking and pooing.

I’ve found taking them on a day trip to La Marina seems to do the trick.

Wilson's suggestion seems that it will be the most effective.

Does anyone know the best way to herd the cats?
