That's Expensive
« on: November 12, 2015, 15:57. »
Our latest electric bill from Iberdrola arrived in the inbox yesterday, as usual I thought that's expensive!!

I've just ran a comparison on the costs against our supplier in the UK, what a difference.

Standing charge (Inc all taxes) Spain actual £36.50 in the UK for the same number of days it would be £9.30
Electricity used (Inc all taxes) Spain actual  £53.01 in the UK for the same KWh it would be £36.10

So the total bill in Spain is £89.51 in the UK it would be £45.40...............about half the Spanish price.

In the UK I also have the benefit of gas for all heating and cooking, making the UK even cheaper.

I'll recive my first Winter Fuel Allowance this year, looks like it'll be used to off set the infalted Spanish prices  :D

Regards all

John

My electric bill is about the same as yours, and as I don't have any gas here it works out cheaper, as I've got no standing charge for the gas or boiler insurance to fork out for. I used to pay £110 a month for both in the UK. I do wish I had a winter fuel allowance though.

It used to be so cheap in Spain now I dread the bill that comes in after the summer months. Such a big jump from when we first bought out here.

Sadly the Iberdrola bi monthly electricity bill is one of the few things that wind's me up, we wont be out since October half term returning normally at easter, during this period we will get 3 bills normally around 30 or 40 euros. When we leave i turn the electric off at the main fuse, so have zero usage. A typical spanish rip off methinks
They dont like it up em !

Hi Mushte, on your Potencia Facturada how many KW are you charged for?
On my bill it's 5.5kw for 60 days at 0.13501 €/kW dia, that comes to €44.56 before €5.08 for other charges and 21% IVA is charged.

I'm looking at €60 before any consumption

I isolate the power when we leave bramleylad, the meter readings on my bill confirm that no electricity is being used, just taking a hit on the exorbitant standing charged.
BTW do you come from a part of Leeds or do you like apples

Hi,  I checked ours last night and realised that the Ibedrola bill charges an additional daily rate if you have the higher Kw but also uses this figure to multiply by. So ours is 3.3 x 63days x .104229 = £21.66.  If I move up to 5.5, then it’ll be 5.5 x 63days x 0.13501 = £46.78.

We are hoping that by moving up to 5.7 and just had a smart meter fitted at a cost of 110 Euros it might cut our electril bill down some
