A few weeks ago I paid £15 for 50 off ebay - perfectly adequate for the job. They're now £8.79 for 50 so I think I was robbed.

From Friday for some bizarre reason I understand- why not today ?
Because the government has faith in the common sense of the british public to do the right thing, personally i think its part of the plan come the enquiry where Doris can put his hands in the air and say “ i did ask”.

Whilst we've got Sainsbury's and Asda saying they won't implement the law regarding masks the Valencian authorities have shown there is no ambiguity.

Today's announcement;

New Covid-19 fines brought in

The fine tariffs for contravening the region’s new Covid-19 protection legislation have been approved by the Valencia parliament.
Sanctions range from €60 for ‘light’ infractions to €60,000 for the most serious offences – and businesses can even be closed down.
A decree was approved in the regional parliament this morning and it covers the provinces of Alicante, Valencia and Castellón.
Explaining the legislation, councillor for justice Gabriela Bravo noted that offences have been divided into light, serious and very serious categories.
In the ‘light infraction’ bracket, fines range from €60 to €600.
People who are not wearing a face mask in public – or not wearing it correctly – will incur a maximum fine of €100.
Also in this section is the failure of a business or association to inform their clients about the obligatory use of a face mask, social distancing and the number of people allowed in the premises – and businesses not adhering to hygiene measures set out in the legislation.
The larger fines will be levied for infractions such as organising or taking part in illegal parties or meetings which lead to large crowds gathering; bars/restaurants not adhering to the distance regulation between tables, which is 1.5 metres on terraces; exceeding the permitted number of customers allowed in a premises; not staying at home when diagnosed with Covid-19; etc.
Businesses can be closed down for six months for serious offences; and between three to 10 years for very serious offences.

Regards all

John

Yes if shops and supermarkets in the UK don’t follow this through half the people will wear masks and half won’t. Meanwhile have heard that Spain may be having their second wave.

Us currently residing in the UK do have the benefit of using our common sense compared to other countries who get told what to do. Looking at my local tesco this morning by september were going to be knee deep in the smelly stuff. How difficult is it to A put a covering/mask on and B put it on properly, the amount of mostly elderly people who wear it on there chin amazes me.

We just got back from salou.( we did miss ga %uD83D%uDE41) very quiet there everyone wore masks in all the shops. No one on the beach. ( it was only a small local beach) I did leave mine in the car once and got shouted at by the shop lady! ( mercadona) Fair play to her I wish our supermarkets with have the balls to police it. However when I tried to buy 1 it was 6euros for a pack of 4. I don%u2019t think shops should be allowed to make a profit on them.

Round by us old men shop with their mobile phone jammed to their ear, no doubt asking the other half 'What brand of beans do we have usually have, where's the soap powder etc, etc.?'

Sounds to me this post is  prejudice or discrimination on the grounds of a person's age and totally unsympathetic. Maybe the elderly man has a sick wife at home who cannot do the shopping. How bad to mock such.
