There is a bit of a story about why they aren't fully demolishing it.

I think it's to do with the licence and permission to build there. They would never get planning permission to build it from scratch again - it would break all kind of "leys"

So as implied they will hold onto a small part of the structure and call it a "reform"

picture from today 11th February. Workman using sledgehammers to take down the inner walls, would think there was a better way in the 21st century. Picture shows the new going up and the old coming down
